Johnson Barrow. A Company Worth Knowing.

Johnson Barrow is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most established HVAC representative organizations — with more than 60 years in the region, five offices, and partnerships with over 100 manufacturers. What sets us apart is not the breadth of the line card, but the depth of specialized expertise we have built in-house to support it.

Working with Johnson Barrow, customers get specialists — not generalists. Our in-house teams across applied equipment, hydronics, controls, air distribution, and service bring deep expertise in their disciplines and a shared understanding of how those systems integrate. Whether the need is a single solution or full-building coordination, we support it from early design through startup, warranty, and long-term service.

Who We Serve

Across the Pacific Northwest, our teams have built focused practice areas around verticals where mechanical systems have to deliver. Whether the priority is high performance, dependable uptime, long-term serviceability, or complex system integration, Johnson Barrow brings the expertise to make it happen.

  • Commercial — Retail, office, high-rise, and light commercial: no matter the project, we bring deep experience to every system in the building.

  • Data Centers — A dedicated team supports mission-critical facilities, from ~1 MW colocation builds to 90+ MW hyperscale deployments.

  • Healthcare — From dental clinics to hospital towers, we bring a system-level approach to patient health and comfort.

  • Hospitality — We bring expertise in acoustics, aesthetics, and operating economics to every build, from select-service hotels to high-end developments.

  • Residential — Whether it’s a mixed-use mid-rise or a premium condo skyscraper, we engage at the design stage to guide developers’ high-stakes decisions.

  • Education — We deliver cost-tuned equipment for tight K–12 budgets and the technical depth for ambitious higher-education projects.

  • Government — Our deep portfolio is ready to serve federal, state, county, and city facilities, including the armed services.

  • Public Infrastructure — Airports, transit, and emergency services count on uptime. Our regional service and support are there to keep them running.

  • Institutional — Every civic building carries a specific mission. We match the right system to each while keeping lifecycle costs in check.

  • Industrial — Manufacturing, food and beverage, and beyond: every industry is different, so we pair broad product depth with application-specific expertise.

What We Do

Air Distribution

Johnson Barrow’s Air Distribution team provides airside solutions across the full product range — grilles, registers, and diffusers (GRDs), commercial and industrial fans, terminal units, variable air volume (VAV) boxes, dampers, louvers, and custom applied air distribution equipment. Our offerings span standard catalog components through semi-custom and fully custom configurations for commercial, industrial, and institutional applications.

Johnson Barrow’s in-house expertise across air distribution, hydronics, and controls means our team provides engineering guidance that accounts for how airside products integrate with the broader mechanical system, not just the individual component. We support customers from initial product selection and specification support through submittal processing and project execution.

Warehousing and job-site staging are available through our Pacific Northwest locations, and our in-house delivery fleet provides predictability in project logistics and delivery scheduling.

Hydronics

Johnson Barrow Hydronics specializes in the systems that move energy through water. We provide equipment selection, application engineering, and project support for consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners across the Pacific Northwest.

Our expertise encompasses:

  • Comfort heating and cooling for commercial and industrial buildings

  • Domestic hot water for residential and institutional facilities

  • Industrial process heating and cooling for manufacturing, data centers, and other process-intensive environments

Heat pumps, both air-to-water and water-to-water, are central to our hydronic offering as building owners across the region pursue decarbonization and electrification goals. We also support the full range of hydronic equipment: boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and cooling towers.

Hydronic equipment connects directly to air distribution, controls, and mechanical systems throughout a building. As part of Johnson Barrow, our Hydronics team works alongside peers across those disciplines, giving customers integrated support that accounts for how the water side interacts with the full mechanical system. Our team brings that depth of project experience to every engagement, from initial system design and equipment selection through commissioning and building integration.

Johnson Barrow Service

Johnson Barrow Service is our in-house team of factory-certified technicians, operating across our Pacific Northwest offices. We specialize in the equipment Johnson Barrow represents, bringing direct product knowledge and factory training to every job.

Our primary focus is supporting installing contractors and project teams through system startup and configuration, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs. From the moment equipment arrives on a job site through handover to the building owner, our goal is timely project completion and a comprehensive transition to long-term operation. For select facilities without dedicated service resources, we also provide ongoing maintenance support.

When you buy through Johnson Barrow, the people responsible for making your equipment work are the same people who know it best. One accountable team from equipment arrival through project completion.
